Dr. Çorlu’s work spans mathematics teacher education, STEM education, and international schooling. He previously served as a Professor of Mathematics Education in Norway and Türkiye and is currently a Professor of Applied Education in Qatar, where he has led the development of the region’s first pathways for both pre-service and in-service teacher education in integrated STEM Education and TVET.

He was the principal investigator of the externally funded STEM: Integrated Teaching Project hosted on InTeach.org, providing sustained, long-term online professional development to almost 10,000 middle- and high-school teachers since 2015. The initiative has evolved into a large-scale repository and professional community for integrated STEM lesson planning—widely regarded as one of the most extensive lesson-plan banks and practitioner networks of its kind globally. A second major strand of his work is earlySTEM, a 35-book program used annually by over 50,000 primary school students and their teachers. Dr. Çorlu is also the co-founder of LabStar™, an innovative low-cost device for classroom data logging and analysis, developed to broaden access to hands-on STEM investigations. His K–12 teaching experience includes work in Africa and Europe, teaching middle- and high-school mathematics, science, and technology.
